One of the keys to the success of our parish is the ability to raise the necessary funds to manage daily operations as well pay for capital upgrades to grow the parish.
Donations are generally split into several distinct classes.
Donations are generally split into several distinct classes.
- Sunday & Holy Day collections are generally used for the operational expenses to keep the parish functioning.
- Archdiocese Annual Appeal - The Archdiocese of Indianapolis can be likened to our head office. Each year we are asked to make contributions to assist in running the Archdiocese. Our doantions are used for some of the reasons listed below
- Support our Catholic High Schools,
- Young men discerning a call to the priesthood,
- Elderly who have cognitive impairments or physical limitations,
- Refugees looking for a better life for themselves and their family,
- Priests entering their retirement years,
- Children and their parents seeking a faith-filled, Catholic education,
- Men, women and children who are in need of food, shelter, clothing, the ability to keep the electric on in their homes, a bus fare to a new job, or simply a bright outlook for a new future, etc.
- St Thomas Capital Campaigns
- Major Capital Campaign targeted at one or more specific projects such as a new rectory, additional classrooms, electronic signage, replace air conditioning or heating,
- Capital Maintenance Fund
- Once a month you will find an extra envelope with your normal Sunday envelopes.
- Funds raised from this source are generally used for large repairs for property and building maintenance. One recent example is resealing our parking lot.
- 5% to St Thomas More,
- 1% to the Indianapolis Archdiocese Annual Catholic Appeal, and,
- 4% to other charities of your choice (BUT, we at St Thomas More would not be disappointed should you choose to donate some or all of that amount to St Thomas More:)
