OCIA - Order of Christian Initiation for Adults

The United States Catechism for Adults textbook is used for OCIA. It's from the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops. Free copies will be distributed to those registered for OCIA.

Are you looking to become Catholic, or just have questions and want more information about the Catholic Church?  Then O.C.I.A is for you!  
  • This program is a no pressure class designed to inform and instruct new believers or believers from other Christian denominations or religions about the Catholic faith.   
  • This process is usually for adults who are thinking about or wanting to become Catholic.  It gives the seeker a basic understanding of the Christian faith and Catholic traditions. People wanting to be baptized and/or receive First Eucharist and/or Confirmation will be brought into the Church at the Easter Vigil. This class is also very beneficial for those already Catholic who want to know more about their faith.  
  • After the completion of the class, members are able to fully join the Catholic Church by receiving the Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Confirmation, Eucharist) and are then able to fully join the parish in all parish events, and most importantly to participate fully in the Holy Mass.
  • We, at St. Thomas More, take our commitment seriously to assist you with your faith formation journey, spiritually and religiously.  We are honored and delighted to be able to provide you a wide variety of classes, events and prayerful experiences.
  • Classes begin in early September and meet one night per week through Easter.
